Roll for Style is a clothing brand I designed and built from the ground up. I collaborated with a local vendor in Los Angeles to bring the production and packaging to life.

The Story

I wanted apparel that lets you wear your hobbies and passions proudly while staying stylish. Each piece is designed to reflect what matters most to you, blending style with personal expression.

The Inspiration

It all started during a trip to Disneyland where I saw families wearing matching custom shirts. I loved the sense of family unity it represented and I was so inspired that I decided to create custom shirts for our next vacations. What began as a fun hobby quickly grew into a full-scale production leading to the creation of Roll for Style, my own clothing company.

The PROcess

I knew very little about fashion, let alone how to sew, but my curiosity and drive to succeed kept me going. I've always loved pocket T-shirts and they quickly became the foundation of my clothing brand.

Along the way I made plenty of mistakes particularly with printing and learning how digital colors translate into printed CMYK colors. After a series of trials and errors, I finally produced my first prototype. With a solid template in hand, I began searching for third-party vendors to manage the production pipeline.

I found a Los Angeles vendor that specialized in custom clothing for small businesses. One thing I really wanted was a woven label attached to my pocket. Something unique that represented my brand. Working with a vendor was a steep learning curve and I stumbled through the process. After many conversations and meetings with vendor, I finalized my T-shirt design process. The next step was to build a website to showcase and sell my products.

I signed up for Shopify to manage sales logistics and taxes, got a business address, and designed the website. Everything was set except for marketing and launching! You could say I optimistically navigated the process, but when it came to taking marketing pictures, I realized I had no clue what I was doing.

Me attempting to "pose" for marketing material while my wife laughs and has a great time.

I'm still struggling with marketing and posing, but I feel like I've finally found my groove. I started just being myself in all the marketing materials, and it’s been working out. You can check out all the photos at: Roll For Style Instagram

The Launch

I launched! What an incredible feeling it was. What started as a hobby for family vacations has grown into an official business. I'm immensely proud of everything I set out to achieve and I'm excited about the next steps in growing the business.
